Our Story
Preserving Ukrainian Heritage in Lincoln
UCCL, Ukrainian Cultural Centre Lincoln, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Ukrainian culture in Lincoln, UK. Through our passionate team of volunteers, we strive to create a welcoming space for the Ukrainian community and promote cultural exchange. Created in 2022, UCCL adopted its Constitution on the 1st of July 2022. First UCCL committee members were: Halyna Wolverson, Anna Havryshchuk, Valeria Krochak, Irene Astbury, Tetyana Graves.
Our Aims
The Aims of UCCL shall be to:
- To help the integration of Ukrainian families into British culture and life.
- Support and development of the Ukrainian knowledge, culture, arts, heritage and traditions through the workshops and various events.
- To support children in their development of written and spoken skills in their mother tongue.
- Develop, promote and support the interests of the Ukrainian community and those of Ukrainian descent in the United Kingdom.
- Provide advice, welfare and other assistance to relieve suffering and hardships to Ukrainians in need, including those in Ukraine.
- Provide and develop facilities for social, cultural and educational interaction.
- Promote and foster inter-cultural understanding and harmony between the Ukrainian and British or other ethnic communities in Great Britain.
